He died November 16, 1873 in Norwich and was buried in the Yantic Cemetery. In 1835 Bacon could be located in Charleton. He is listed as a machinist. In 1840 Bacon moved to Grafton, Masachusetts he purchased real estates from Ethan Allen. This land located on a waterway and was suitable for the construction of a firearms factory. There must be a close relationship between Thomas K. Bacon and Ethan Allen. Eventually Bacon worked for Allen in his Grafont manufactury. When Allen muved his manufactory to Norwich, Connecticut, Bacon too moved to Norwich. In Norwich he did a lot of real estate transactions. There he is listed as a machinist but not as a gunsmith. An Allen & Thurber Daybook from 1846 shows that Bacon was producing cones and trigger guards for Allen however he continued his real estate business. The 1846 Norwich Directory listing reads, "Bacon, Thomas K., Armory, Falls, h. Prospect" Bacon & Company was established between 1847 and 1850. It can be found in the 1850 census. This was a small manufacturer of singel shot pistols and percussion pepper boxes. The company was dismantled in 1857 when Bacon became superintendent of Manhattan Firearms Company. Bacon left Manhattan Firearms Company already about one year later and established the Bacon Mfg. Co. This company made percussion revolvers nearly identical to the Manhattan percusion revolvers. In 1863 or 1864 the Bacon Arms Co. was established and continue in business until 1888. However, Bacon sold his shares of Bacon Arms Co. on Ocotber 2, 1865 already. In 1866 Bacon is listed as a pistol maker. In that of 1868 as inventor. For 1869 and 1870 Bacon is listed as an agent and in the following directories with no occupation.
